It’s a beautiful morning to wake up in the sunny city of Nairobi! After a hearty breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your scenic flight to Samburu. Just an hour later, you’ll touch down in this remarkable region, where your knowledgeable Saruni Samburu guide will welcome you with fascinating stories of the Samburu people and the rich history of the conservancy. From there, you’ll be driven to the lodge or head straight into the wild for a thrilling game drive.

In the afternoon, embark on an exclusive game drive through the pristine El Kalama Conservancy, covering over 200,000 acres of untouched wilderness. As the sun begins to set, enjoy a breathtaking sundowner while soaking in the magnificent views.

• Early morning game drive into Samburu National Reserve to seek  out the ‘Samburu Special Five’: the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy  zebra, the beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich and the gerenuk; all rare  species that occur only in this part of the country, and look for its  well known larger wildlife including elephants, lion and leopard. Enjoy a  picnic lunch before heading back to the lodge to relax for the  afternoon.
• Enjoy a complimentary half hour Back & Neck massage upon arriving back at the lodge at the Samburu Wellbeing Space.

• Continue to explore the wonders of Samburu with a morning game  drive and after lunch possibly head out on a nature walk discovering  animals, plants and the caves in the local area with rock paintings, led  by your skillful and knowledgeable Samburu guides.
•  Evening  game drive in EL Kalama Conservancy, the 200,000-acre private wildlife  conservancy in which Saruni Samburu is located, ending with a bush  dinner under the stars in the middle of the wilderness, and a night  drive back to the lodge. The Samburu warriors dancing, candles and fire  under the vast African skies, make this a truly magical experience, and  one of the highlights of your stay

• Night  at the Fly Camp (The location of the fly camp is dictated by the  location of the wildlife and will be set up in two different locations  to ensure a thrilling and diverse experience)

• Wake up early to walk around camp and see what wildlife has been past under the cover of darkness
• Early  breakfast in camp Depart on horseback with a saddle bag lunch to  explore the Ngare Ndare Forest. You will have a chance to swim here so  remember to pack your swimming costumes in your saddle bags, towels will  be provided.
• Return to camp in time for a cup of tea, the camp  would have moved locations here so you will experience a completely  different part of the conservancy.
• Spend the afternoon on a walk or drive, sundowners near Location two of the fly camp.
• Night at the fly camp

• Spend the morning as your please – relax with a lie-in,  reconnect with your horses and head out on a ride, try your luck with a  game drive on the hunt for big cats or head out on a thrilling mountain  bike ride.
• Return to Borana Lodge for breakfast Head to the  Waitabit Permaculture Farm after lunch for an insight into where all the  fruit, vegetables and meat are source for Borana Lodge.
• Lunch at Borana Lodge
• After tea head off on foot to Pride Rock, the inspiration for Disney’s Lion King and a wonderful sundowner setting
• Return  to Borana Lodge in a vehicle with a spotlight to catch a glimpse of the  more nocturnal animals such as bush babies and porcupine

• Night at Borana Lodge
