Why visit Laikipia?
Laikipia is one of my favorite destinations in Kenya. I studied and got my first job here, so it will always be special to me.
What charmed me most was the unique chance to disconnect from the world and immerse in breathtaking landscapes and rare wildlife. Think open green fields, forests, rivers, and lakes.
The local communities are also known for their fascinating culture, with arts like handmade jewelry, traditional dances, and stories passed down through generations. Each interaction is unique and memorable in these immersive Kenya travel trips!
Steri Tours’ relationship with local community conservancies makes your experience in Laikipia extra special. We collaborate closely with local businesses and community conservancies – good for you and the local communities.
Unforgettable immersive cultural and conservation initiatives
The locals represent communities from almost every part of Kenya. Kikuyu, Turkana, Meru, Samburu, and Borana people, alongside the pastoral Mukogodo, Maasai, and Dorobo communities.
Laikipia is also known for its successful conservation efforts and is home to almost half of Kenya’s black rhino population and a number of other endangered species.
Perfect any time of the year, without the crowds
Laikipia can be visited throughout the year, though from April to July, it’s wetter and greener, making the landscape especially beautiful.
It has a reputation for less crowded safaris, where you might be the only vehicle in the conservancy.
